She grew up in a small town surrounded by mountains: her solitary walks and hikes in this natural landscape were very inspiring for her work; but on the other hand, she never hesitated to travel even some hours to a distant location just to enjoy a rave party or a good club. Listening to techno, house or trance music she used to pay attention especially to those special effects and melodies that seem to enhance the power and enthusiasm originated from the beats. At a certain point she started wondering if she could compose whole tracks made of special effects, to be added to the beats by other musicians. <<I think of my music as a sort of 'raw materials' for djs. Though personally I work just on programming and not on sampling, nothing would please me better than if I see DJs using samples from my tracks, or remixing them. My music is not dance music, it is rather a sort of Ambient (but more aggressive...), yet it was quite influenced by the techno scene; as by the ethnic scene as well>>. In her songs she tries to render atmospheres very remote in time, but under those metaphors there are always contemporary issues. She lived in NY for a couple of years to learn English, and to widen her artistic views; started writing songs and copyrighted them there; and set up her own publishing label FulgurMusic.

"This release is most outlandish and one of my favourite CDs of 2005.;devised by Italian born, now New York based, female artist Miles Faber. Written, produced and self released by the performer herself. Electronic sequencer based with a fair amount of sound distortion and the most bizarre child like vocals. The opening tracks are extremely innovative, try and imagine Laurie Anderson rushing into a head on collision with Front 242. 'War Machines' (track four) is sort of industrial funk, a bit like Mark Stewart and the Mafia without the preaching. 'Ship Battle' (track five) more dark ambient, could possibly be compared with some of Coil's work in this genre. The last track, 'The Doubt of Winners' is astonishing, reminiscent of Jack or Jive, extraordinary and beautiful with uneasy overtones. A very endearing and unique CD from an original talent that needs checking out urgently."

''Italian composer and singer fond of technological innovation in sound engineering, Miles Faber unleashes her unusual assault of aggressive ambient and edgy electronic rhythms. Self described as "raw material for DJs", Next Age Songs For Marching Armies is keenly composed of sweetly savage female vocals, searing synth sweeps and warps, and effective bubbling-blipping rhythms. Faber purposely leaves out the kicks, snares, hi-hats, and drum sample standard in today's dance music, resulting in a completely stimulating, innovative, and addictive release. Next Age Songs For Marching Armies encourages the listener to gleefully imagine what these songs might sound like with an additional techno drum, breakbeat, or drum & bass track. But the entire album is still abundantly satisfying (and perhaps even rhythmically stronger for not relying on predictable drum loops) with amazing tracks like "Inborn Zeal" "Such A Precious Gift?" "War Machines" and "Greedy For Glory".''
